So special

As you know, I was banned for 10 days over a week ago. I have not been able to post anything at Ravelry. This morning, I received an email from them, banning me for 30 days! What this means is that I am being banned for posts on the internet and on my own websites. I feel certain I can go on Discus and be told this is perfectly acceptable.

But this is not acceptable. My posts on the internet are not under their control and violate nothing (unless they are unhappy that I’ve called them liars over their new policy. I think this pretty much proves that.) I have other things to do right now, so I’m going wait and see if they decide to perma-ban me, based on my online posts at my own site and others.

The internet is full of dead links. Make Ravelry one of them.

What a tribute to your eloquence, correctness of vision, and far-reaching impact! Teri, you are having even more of an impact than you’d imagined!

Do you have a way I could private message you?

Or could you email me at the address you have on file? I have a suggestion.

  4. You should be able to reach me with the email you have. And I think there is a contact me link on the site. (Let me know if there isn’t).

Sitting outside, spindle spinning with the dogs, because it’s a beautiful day.

  5. Just checked. Doesn’t look like there’s a direct email contact. Use smilingsunshine at notsothoreau.com. I don’t use it often so I can create a different address if too many trolls hit it.

  6. So you’re banned from posting. Seems what you say off the site is just as important as what you say on it, which is a contradiction from their lying manifesto.

I’m glad I bounced off as fast as I could. Most of the sites that talked about diversity in knitting had their say, hired a few models, and let it go. Ravelry and their people have taken in to an ugly level I never anticipated.

  7. I am going to leave my account out there. I’ve already taken everything off it. I’m waiting for the permanent ban.

  8. Just a note– there is now ourunraveled.com and openravel.com. There is a Facebook group, Boycott Ravelry that is active too.

  9. I joined, and then unjoined the Boycott group on FB. I think telegraphing too much is a way to lose, besides that why on earth is it an open group? Good way to get doxed.

  10. They have good intentions. They started it as a closed group, then changed it to public. Facebook won’t let them make changes for 28 days.
