Ravelry

I am tired of businesses thinking they get a free pass to slander me. And I am extremely tired of tech companies censoring speech. I can’t tell you how angry this makes me. I have always felt that the knitting and spinning community could come together and share their knowledge, regardless of their political point of view. It seems that is no longer true. I got along without Ravelry for years and I can get along without them again. I would still like to support designers and businesses that are interested in my business. But I would suggest that they find other venues to advertise from.

I feel the same! Im so shocked by the turn of events on ravelry… i guess the writing was on the wall when all of the so called white privilege started. I mean asking members to report on others?? I guess I’m too tuned into the Holocaust survivor stories to go a long with this. Do you know if rav has an opt out option? Not sure I want to continue on this site. I would like my data and paid for patterns. I am sad that diversity of thought isn’t ok. I feel like your comment was right on. I made a comment when the the white privileged topic started… i was obliterated. Thanks for friending me,I think its uncomfortable to attend knitting events for me now.

  2. You can go into your profile to export data. You can download patterns, one at a time. You can get a copy of your projects, database, etc. You can delete your account on the main account page.

I am tempted to go to Black Sheep and hold up a Boycott Ravelry sign outside. But it would likely be pointless. I’m glad I have my own blog. I might set up the forum software, just to see if there’s any interest.
