I posted my spinning projects over at the Spindlitis site. I am trying hard to get the garden under control. I had another cough/congestion virus plus we have actually had rain. I was able to keep the new fruit trees watered, if needed, but the weeds went crazy. And I had a chain link fence installed on the back yard, so that I can finally let Jake wander outside on his own. I did also get this:
This is a Yard Force lawn tractor. It is electric and can do two acres on a charge. It has cruise control. It is way more than I need but got glowing reviews, which was not the case with some of the other electrics I saw. I hired someone local to put it together and get it off the shipping crate. It is fun to drive! I wanted to be able to hitch something up to the trailer to move it. Just got the hitch for this, so will be trying that soon. I also want a small cart, so I can move things from the front to the back yard. It’s too wide to do the garden area, but I have a small electric lawnmower and a weed whacker for that. I am just tired of having to wait on someone to work on things around here. With this, I can get the mowing done. I could redo the garden area, for the beds that don’t contain trees and make it easier to deal with. I still need to install the drip irrigation for the beds. I will catch up eventually. It is supposed to turn hot.
I have more irises on the way, so I do need to set up a bed for them. Also have a rose to be planted. The Asian pears look like a bust. One never came out of dormancy. The other two don’t have much new growth. When I finish clean up, I will post pictures of how it looks. This year, I focused on the trees, but I am starting to get some tomatoes, plus a few berries. I think I will have asparagus next. year as the ones I planted from Renee’s Garden continue to throw out big spikes. The damson plum may put out blooms next year. I will have to see how things make it through the winter. All the animals are doing fine.
